I tried all 3, the enter, space bar, and left click.
None of them works. Using Jaws 13 second public beta. At that time, IRCTC
site was not at all opening.

The calendar table does open, but somewhere at the bottom of the page.
Press space bar on the read only field which should turn the forms
mode on, and again if it does not turn off automaticaly. Then search
for the letter combinations such as su or mo and you should find the
table.

website of IRCTC was not opening and Indianrail’s own portal is still not
functioning for online booking, I used Yatra.
Everything went well till I didn’t reach on date picker, which is a read
only edit box, and even after hitting enter you don’t get any other link /
table from where you can select the date. Just like RBI website.
To my understanding there is no way out to deal with it, but I would like

be prooved wrong.
Shall be obliged if experts can tell me a way out. As I have to look for
hotels now.
I wish we could have some accessible mobile application to do this task of
booking. But all of them are in Java unfortunately.
