I don't know about the Indian situation, but at least here in the US,
XP has been largely faced out. With netbook you get windows 7 starter
32 bit and 64 bit with laptops. Also, Microsoft will no longer support
XP. It means that you will not get security updates and other crucial
patches. As time goes on, then many drivers will not be available for
XP as well. So even if XP is available in India, I strongly suggest
that you go for Windows 7.
