You can of course learn Java . Although it is advised to learn basics of
programming in some procedural language like C/C++, but you can even
start programming in java
There are many tutorials on internet like Bakki which can can give you
an overview of what java is & how to program.
If you wish to be an expert or want to be a java programmer then get
back to me . I will suggest you books specifically for the level of
skill you require.
