About Chakshumathi:
Sanskrit word “Chakshumathi” represent the Vedic educational science
for blind. Chakshu means Eyes and Mathi means Wisdom. As denote by the
name “Chakshumathi” or Intuitive eyes, this charitable trust is a
dedicated publishing unit for visually impaired using Daisy technology
and is the Daisy Resource Centre of Kerala. Our major aim is to build
confidence on every blind person that they are also equally
intelligent like the normal people with vision and no opportunity is
scares for them too. In most cases blind people are blessed with
abandoned amount of intelligence than a normal person and they can
easily surpass a normal person on his IQ and EQ if they are able to
access information like people with vision. Chakshumathi is a humble
attempt to bridge the information gap for blind and people with
reading difficulties. Chakshumathi started on June 24, 2011 and
employed with 9 visually impaired staff.
Other activities of Chakshumathi consists of one to one job oriented
computer training, research in assisted mathematics for the visually
impaired, designing and mobilizing technology based manufacturing
projects for self employment and group manufacturing, Training
programmes for Competitive based examination, evoking science
enthusiasm within the Visually Impaired community, developing and
advocating new job opportunities for the community, eye health and eye
donation campaigns.
Chakshumathi is the publisher of the first Daisy Malayalam fortnightly
named “Chakshumathi”. It also produce Executive Knowledge Line Science
magazine in English and available through our website
