the last access india convention is a memorable day in my life. other
than meeting many people and sharing their experience, i had a very
strange but memorable experience. The conference was progressing with
its intellectual and technological discourses. in the post lunch
session it was Kiran Kaja's presentation on Mobile devices for the
visually challenged. almost at 3 pm, i went out of the hall in search
of a toilet. After some inquiries i reached there. as usual i got in
and locked the room. there is nothing unusual till now. but the
miracle happened when i wanted to come out. as i tried to open the
door, it was not coming. it had a different kind of lock which could
be operated from both the sides. i hadn't feel any speciality as i
felt the lock before locking it, otherwise i would not have locked it.
as i couldn't open it after struggling for sometime, i called some of
my friends on phone and told them my bad luck. they all rushed to the
sport and started giving me instructions on how to open the door. the
wrong suggestions given them and my unnecessary hastiness made the
situation worse. at last when the room boy came, the lock was not in
an open condition.
The bathroom was in the first floor of the building. Since it had no
windows, the walls were made of glass. The scorching sunlight coming
through the walls and my own inner turmoil made me feel like being in
an oven. in the end they decided to break the lock. the interesting
thing was not all that. things were not so easy as i had imagined.
even after breaking the lock they couldn't open it. meanwhile i heard
someone saying that they wanted to see my face at that situation. at
last when the door got opened, i had already spent more than 45
minutes in that chamber. i felt very grateful to the expert who opened
the door. i will never forget this day. sometimes technology can cause
us such enigmatic traps also.
regards
