Dear friends,
The Technical Training Institute [TTI] is proud to take this opportunity to invite you for a 1 day seminar on “Reading Without Seeing”, which is organized by Saksham, [New Delhi] under the banner of DAISY forum of India, in collaboration with the Technical Training Institute of the PBMA. This 1 day event shall be hosted at the Auditorium of the H. V. Desai Eye Hospital, Mohamvadwadi, Pune; on the 27th of November 2011. The timing for the seminar shall be from 10 AM to 5 PM. Mr. Bajirao Jadav – Chief Commisioner for Persons with Disabilities, Government of Maharashtra shall be the Guest of Honour for this function. The objective of the seminar is to make end users, educational institutions and government policy makers aware of various options for reading and writing, in order to achieve independence for persons with blindness or low vision. A revolution has happened in this field. However, the number of users taking benefit of this is very less due to lack of adequate information about available options. This seminar is intended to address these problems. The seminar will present information and practical demonstrations of various equipment and infrastructure facilities such as online libraries, access to main stream magazines, newspapers and various tools to read independently. We request all friends and organizations working for print disability in Maharashtra to participate and try to spread more awareness amongst the youth, as today’s youth is tomorrow’s future! With the help of latest technology we can fulfill our dreams in terms of career management and also keep ourselves informed about the current happenings around the world.
