Subject: Re: [VV] Reviving Old Outlook Express Account And Importing Folders And Addressbook From Pen Drive

Hi sir,
It is not clear by your mail that you export the account settings or not. Anyway, do the following steps to complete the task. 1st import the address book. For that, go to outlook express and in file menue open import submenue and press enter on other addressbook. a wisard will open. It will ask for the program by which you want to import the addressbook. Select the last option text file comma seperated vallue and click next. hear browse for the CSV file you have exported in your pendrive. I do not remember further steps, but the rest is very easy. Now the tricky task of importing all the mails again to outlook express. Copy all the DBX files in a folder say mails in any drive. But I will not recommend in system partition C:. Now, open tools menu in outlook express and press enter on option. By pressing ctrl+tab, go to mentainance tab. Press space on store folder button. hear you will see the path of original storage. Press space on change and browse for the folder you have newely created and press ok. Say yes for the prompt appears. Click ok and finally again ok. Now restart outlook express and you will see all the folders with mails. Please feel free to get in touch with me off the list any time for any further help. I will be more than happy to help. I will recommend you should call me while you are doing the restoration process.
Thanks and regards,
Rohiet Patil.

Subject: [VV] Reviving Old Outlook Express Account And Importing Folders And Addressbook From Pen Drive

Hello friends, Hope you are in the finest of all fine things. Some
time back, I had to re install Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
on my system. But, before doing that, I took backup of my messages and
addressbook from Outlook Express on to my pen drive.
Friends suggested mainly two methods for that perpose:--
the first one was to go to c:\programfiles\outlookexpress, and copy
paste all files from there on to the pen drive.
According to the second method, I was advised to open outlook
express, go to export submenu and hit enter, then select and coppy all
the folders in Outlook express and paste them in windows run dialog.
Then I again selected them from their and pasted them in my pen Drive.
There they are being shown as dbx files.
In order to take backup of my addressbook, I again went to
export submenu in Outlook express and hit enter. then I hit down arrow
in order to save the file as comma sepparated values. Then I coppied
and pasted these files in an other folder in my pen drive.
Now, as I have installed windows xp sp 2 and all necessary
software, kindly guide me step by step as to how I can revive my old
Outlook Express Account and import the address book and other folders
from the pen drive. Hope you will oblige with an early solution to
this.
Regards.
                Yogesh.
