Profession Tax is a tax levied by the states/ union territories under
their respective Profession Tax laws & is not levied by the Central
Government. Each state/ union territory grants exemptions to various
categories under it's respective Profession Tax Act & a category of
citizens enjoying profession tax exemption in one state might not enjoy
the same exemption in another state.
Kindly inform us which state do you reside in so that we can search for
the appropriate state circular.
