Ahmedabad, Jan 4 :

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will on Wednesday launch the Braille
and audio version of ‘Bal Shrusti’- a monthly magazine for children
published by Gujarat Rajya Shala Pathya Pustak Mandal.

The special edition of the magazine is prepared by Blind Peoples'
Association (BPA), a NGO which aims at building comprehensive
rehabilitation of persons with all kinds of disabilities through education,
training, employment, integrated education, research, publications etc.

Both the Braille and audio version are being launched to celebrate the
birth anniversary of Louis Braille who was the inventor of Braille - a
system of reading and writing used by people who are blind or visually
impaired.

As a mark to commemorate the ‘Louis Braille Day’ on Wednesday, a visually
impaired person will be reading Gujarati News Bulletin on Doordarshan at 7
pm and another visually challenged person with will read the regional news
broadcast at 7.10 pm on All India Radio. (IBNS)
