I disagree. Though it did not impress me from narrative point of view, or unity of plot etc. I believe author is wanting to convey some thoughts and arguments of his, which as happens in dreams and literary conventions, are disguised and sometimes changed beyond recognition and lend themselves to myriad interpretations...
