in thunderbird use the following settings to solve your issue.
1. press alt+t to activate the tools menu.
2. now press S to go to
to the account settings.
here press down airow untill you find composition and addressing.
here press tab and you will here something like then reply below quote.
change it to reply to above quote. and pres enter. you are done.
