In phones like E5 and E63, the function key is used to type numbers and some symbols in messaging, notes, Quidk office, etc. Hold the Fn key and type the numbers and symbols by pressing rtyu fghj vbnm. Otherwise, you cannot type numbers but only letters. Similarly, the ctrl key is used to select the entire text by pressing ctrl + a, for cutting by pressing ctrl + x, for copying--ctrl + c, for pasting--ctrl + v; to bold--ctrl + b, to italicise--ctrl + i and to underline--ctrl + u. Before making use of any of these functions, you have to select the text using the Edit key + arrow keys.
