Dear Rahul
Your assumption that you lost four marks scoring 96/100 only due to diagram
questions may not be actually correct.
We cannot be so sure about all our answers like that.
So, you may have got those marks nonetheless.
Secondly, separate evaluation of papers of I is not well founded and I don't
think it actually takes place in Maharashtra board.

The best thing to do however, seems to practice those graphs with your writer
and ask her to draw them in compliance with your instructions during the exam.
It is perfectly legal and a blind person can very well explain what is to be
drawn and the writer draw it.
This is the good option in preference to being at the mercy of rules of
Maharashtra board or government which are not sure to be implemented...

Subject: [AI] A question regarding graphs

Hi all,

A few months ago, I had asked a question about how the marking is done
for graphs and diagrams for visually impaired students in the HSC
board exams.
So, many people told me that visually impaired students do not have to
make graphs in economics.
Instead, they get all the marks on the basis of the rest of the answer
that they've written.
I asked the board people about this.
So, they gave me a copy of the circular which states that visually
impaired students do not have to make graphs and they further asked me
to attach the copy of that to my answer sheet so that the person
checking the paper will be able to award marks accordingly.

I followed the same procedure in 10th, but, unfortunately, I did not
get any marks for the diagram question in my paper.
I wasn't able to see my answer sheet, as the provisions of the board
do not allow any student to see the answer sheet after it has been
checked.
However, I got 96 marks, so I'm pretty sure that I lost all my 4 marks
because of the diagram question.
So, even though the board people have told me that they will allot
marks on the basis of the theoretical part of my answer, I still don't
know whether I should trust them or not.
I can practice all the main graphs with my writer before the exam so
that she'll be able to properly draw them in the exam.
If I do this, then I won't have to attach any circular with my paper,
and my paper will be checked like anyone else's.

I have also been told that the papers of visually impaired students
are checked separately.
I assume that they find out that a student is visually impaired by
seeing the circular which VI students attach to their papers.
So, I also feel that they may not properly evaluate my papers and
might give me just above-average marks on account of sympathy and
pity, without actually checking my paper.
So, naturally, this can have an adverse impact on my percentage.

So, according to you, should I ask my writer to draw the graphs in the
exam, or should I simply attach the circular which the board people
have given?

Your help would be really appreciated.
I hope that my question makes sense.

Cheers,
Rahul
