Hi all, Recently, a man with low vision from Maharashtra called us. He lives in a place called Pengiri, Taluka Sangamner in Ahmednagar district. He is looking for some way to increase his earning.
He is 32 year old, and right now their sources of livelihood is by selling the milk of two cows they have, and his wife works in other's farm. Earlier, he had his own pan shop in the Sangamner, which he stopped doing as it was using someone else's premises, and he thought to return to his village. He didn't start it in his place Pengiri as there are already 4 shops and he felt he would not earn enough starting another one. He studied up to class 9th in Marathi medium; can read big fonts closely (newspaper headlines). He is married, and has two children to support, He is unaware of any possibilities and provisions, doesn't even get the disability pention given by the state government, and also sounds inconfident. We will appreciate if someone can suggest some CBR/rehabilitation organisation in or around Ahmed nagar where this person can get some training to enhance his employebility and self confidence.
