there is lot of discussion already done in this regard. please look into
archives. a few things I want to re-iterate. don't think of getting an
assembled laptop. only buy branded one. dell, Toshiba, sony, etc. but as
earlier I said, don't buy lenovo products. regarding operating systems, I am
comfortable with win xp. but you won't get a laptop with win xp. many
learned friends in the list are experienced in win 7 and they say win 7 is
quite accessible and user friendly.
