Which model of scanner do you have presently?
Which software do you use to convert to text?
Maybe, the scanner is ok, you may be doing something incorrect.

When I try to scan books using my current scanner, the output is often
very disappointing.
JAWS reads most of the letters as symbols, or it sometimes doesn't
respond at all when I open a scanned page.
So, I assume that the quality of my scanner might not be good, because
this happens even when I ask other people to scan my books.
So, I'm planning to buy a new scanner.
Can anyone here recommend a fast and accurate scanner?
Please also mention its approximate cost if you can.
