HI, I believe my following email sent on 23 December could not make through the list, so resending it.
Now ovi maps also has a hindi TTS voice which can announce the street names while giving navigation guidance in drive/walk mode. I discovered it today when I checked the available voices in my handset in maps - settings - navigation. Anyone who has GPRS activated, or can access wi-fi in the handset, can download it directly in their handset. Apart from this, I think the list of available voices have become longer with many foreign voices with & without street names. I have uploaded my voices folder again, which also has the newly introduced hindi_tts, on sendspace. Do note that I have downloaded using a handset having ovi maps 3.03, and believe it should work in 3.04, but I do not have any idea for other map versions. Also I do not know if it would work in phones using other than symbian s60 v3. To download the voices.zip file of 38.6 MB containing total 11 voices, visit http://www.sendspace.com/file/dxzom7. As mentioned in my earlier email about using map data, to use these voices folder in your nokia symbian 60 phone, go to its memory card - cities - diskcache. Delete the voices folder you have here, and paste the newly downloaded folder here. Disconnect the phone. Go in maps - settings - navigation - drive. Select the hindi with street names, and press ok and come out. You should be ready to use it Hope it helps, best, Pranay.
