Tune up utilities does its job automatically if needed. I think, CCleaner is a basic program and tune up contains more functions. I have once used AVG Tune up and found good. But don't know, which is better? Mahesh Sir, check the microsoft india site to get the details of upgrading to win 7.

Hello,
Have you tried Tune up Utilities? If not, download it from
www.tuneuputilities.com
This is not free, but you can use it as fully functional demo for 15 or 30 days. Install & run it and follow the steps. This program is not fully accessible, but you can manage it using jaws cursor. It repairs the registry, defrag the hard disk, optimize the system and more.

At last, Why don't you upgrade to Windows 7?

I've scanned the system and it removed some adware stuff. but the
problem of slow down n hasn't gone away.

I use Kaspersky internet security as well as microsoft security essentials.

Before starting scan, does one need to disable the anti virus program on
my computer?

Sir,
Sorry for late reply. I got few mails including this one from spam
folder.
I think, your system has been infected. Which antivirus are you using? Try to scan with online scan of super antispyware. To do this, go to
www.superantispyware.com/onlinescan.html
and download the scanner file by clicking "Click here to scan your
computer
now" link. extension of this file will be .com and size around 20 MB.
Don't worry about internet speed, after downloading you don't need
internet
connection to scan. This is a portable file, Run the file and start
scan.

Thanks a lot Sinoj. This program has partly given respite to me. Even
this is not working at 100 %, but its nevertheless working alright.
Thanks Jaison for the suggestion, but I've been using CCleaner for a
long time and after my current problems, have also started using
Auslogics SpeedBoost. But alas, windows explorer has so far refused to
mend its ways.
Sinoj, is there a way by which a click on MyDocuments or MyComputer
would automaticly open them in Explorer++? I had changed the setting
to change default program to open all files, but then when I click any
shortcut on my desktop, its saying application can't be found. So I
had to revert back to windows explorer.
Thanks anyways for this.
Best,

Subject: [AI] looking for an accessible and good substitute for
windowsexplorer

Hello Access Indians.
My windows Vista 32 bit Acer Aspire 4930 has gone slow for some time
now. Its not the machine as a whole that has gone slow. Its the
windows Explorer, MS Office and InternetExplorer that are giving me
trouble, with the windows explorer at the top of the list. deleting
files, copy-pasting those, or propping up the context menu takes ages.
But right now I don't really want to reformat the system. So I am
looking for a functional, accessible alternative to windows explorer.
Can anyone in the list please help? What program can I install? Is
there a good open source program available for the same?
Thanks in advance,
