In short, you do not have control over the format of incoming email messages - they appear in the format chosen by the sender on his email client. This is at least true for Ms Outlook, don't know about Mozilla Thunderbird or others. Also the format remains unchanged for emails that you choose to reply or forward. The format that you select in the Options dialog box applies only to emails that you compose afresh.
