Subject: Re: [AI] regarding geography subject

Hi,
I am late blind and I saw maps during my school time, so many images
are still in my mind like India, and some about the world also. I’ve
found few persons has no knowledge of four main directions, so create
confusion specially in:
.In which direction our state in our country is,
.In which direction our country in map is,
. In which direction from our city or state we are going while travelling.
It’s not a big research, but it’s essential knowledge for us a part of
inpendent Skills.
Well, now while preparing for competitive exam, I’ve started to gain
knowledge of specific locations of different countries, continents,
ocens with the help of my cousin. She holds my finger and moves on the
map. I am able to get idea at very basic level so going ahead in this
area. Still many topics of Geography brings me to amazing world
I want to know,
What is the method to teach Geography in Blind schools?

I am also facing same problem while preparing for civil services. its
difficult to understand the subject with out properly understanding
the maps. some technics will have to be evolved to understand it, the
members who are preparing for competitive exams or have studied the
subject as their course work may share their experiences.

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has taken or are taking world / India
geography class? If so how do you handle maps? Can you tell me about
other challenges you have had or are having with the class? Thanks
