Instructions for installing talks software You should have the following before installation of talks software: . Nokia PC Suite or Nokia Ovi connect installed on the computer . Cable or blue-tooth connectivity between the computer and the phone Following steps are required for installation of talks software on mobile phones. . Downloading the software or receiving software by e-mail. . Changes in app manager settings to allow installation of all applications and not just the signed applications . Running PC suite and connecting the phone to computer . Running the installation. . Feeding the registration serial number. 1. The software can be downloaded from the following website: http://www.saksham.org. Go to the download link and choose appropriate version of software. Talks software is available for 2nd and 3rd edition mobile phones. If you need the file to be sent to you by e-mail. Send the request for the same to [email protected] along with the phone model number. You will receive zip file from the website. Unzip the file to a folder on your hard disc. Install all files with extension sisx or sys. 2. changing the App Manager Settings A. go to the app manager on the phone B. press key one to go to options C. arrow down to go to settings and select D. Select the forst option which says: "install applications" default setting for this is "signed only". Change this to "all" E. exit App Manager 3. connecting phone to computer A. On the computer, Run the "Nokia PC Suite or Nokia Ovi Connect Application B. Connect phone to the computer using USB Cable C. When cable gets connected, many options of connectivity modes will appear on the phone. Select PC Suite Mode on the phone 4. Installing the software A. Go to the file menu of Nokia PC Suite. (press alt-F for doing this) B. arrow down to the options of install applications and press Enter C. New Dialogue Box will open. Select the first file mentioned above which need to be installed. Press enter on it. D. Installation messages will begin appearing on the phone. E.You will need to answer 4 or 5 questions on the phone and installation will begin. (If you are installing talks for first time, then you will need sighted assistance to read messages on the phone at this step) F. repeat installation process for all three files which need to be installed. 5. entering the serial number for one month demo or for full license: Go to the menus. . Go inside Installed applications . Arrow down to talks or talks&zooms. . Four options are presented. . choose manual Registration. . Press down arrow twice and type in the serial no. provided by Saksham. . Select OK Butten by pressing Key one Another way of installation is by copying all installation files on the memory card of computer and run the installation from the phone itself. See following steps: . Download talks installation file from www.saksham.org and unzip the .zip file. . Connect your phone to computer using the USB cable. . When asked, select option of Mass Memory on your phone . Now you will see memory card of your phone as a memory drive in windows explorer. . Create a folderon the memory card of the phone from windows explorer . Copy all files with extension .sysx or sys from the unzipped folder to the folder on the memory card of the phone . Go to file manager on the phone. . Press right arrow once to see folders and files of memory card on the phone . Arrow down to the folder where you have copied files from the computer . Press select button on the .sysx or sys file. This will begin installation of the selected component. .
