As most of you would be aware, Saksham can now provide any appliance that is
available at RNIB, UK. www.rnib.org.uk.

RNIB does have complete collection of Ambutech canes. You can check out the cost of these canes at RNIB web site and we can order the same when our next lot of equipment is coming from RNIB. In this way the cost of shipment will
be shared and could be lower than if ordered as a single piece by an
individual.

Saksham is not able to invest to get all equipment readily available here
thus the mode of operation is that we will collect order for any RNIB
products that you want and we can get this in next shipment which is
expected to be once in a month.

Thanks
Dipendra

Hi Amar,

Is it foldable like the aluminum one?

Hi Sir,

Actually the graphite cane is lighter, more durable, and the tapping
sound is also lighter than any other cane as such. Further in aluminum
canes, joints are bent sometimes, that also doesn't happen in graphite
canes. Its more well-designed and gives better look too.
There is this revolution enterprises also I will speak with them also
today.

Hi Amar,
Is Graphite the material of the cane?
If yes, then how is it better than aluminum?
Even I plan to order a Ambutech cane and hence wanted to make the
right choice.
Excuse me if this has already been discussed in this thread.
Looking forward to your guidance.
Sincerely,
Rishi.

Rightly said, the shipping cost is double the actual cost of the cane!
As far as Ambutech is concerned, they ship the cane with cover of one
month manufacturing defects. I will try and get it through somebody
from U.S. while he is on his way back to India.

Just I've noted. Prnav is making an important point here. Here the
price ranges from $25-30. I preferred to bring it from India in the
past. On 7/6/12, Sathiyaprakash Ramdoss <[email protected]>

Based on my personal experience, I have no hesitations to
recommend Ambutech. Durability is an important factor to consider.
See whether you can get one or two extra rolling-ball tips and it is
generally very easy to replace. Thank you.

Hi Guys,

I have to order one graphite cane with rolling ball tip for myself,
and to the best of my knowledge they are not available in India. In
such a case, U.S. is my choice for ordering the same.

I have spoken with Able Data people, and will be speaking with AFB
and some others. My research shows that there are two good
manufacturers:
Ambutech and Revolution Enterprises. Since I have no idea of U.S.
manufacturers, I would be obliged if listers could suggest some
good names so that I could choose the best from the available options.
Also, what are the things to be considered while selecting a good
cane manufacturer? So far I have got recommendation for Ambutech.

Look forward for guidance.
