On a related note, is it possible to get rid of all the clutter in Windows
Explorer/My computer, so that only the treeview, listview and address bar
are displayed? This used to be possible in Windows XP. But in Windows7 one
has to put up with the Toolbar, the NameSplit button and so on. Also, the
address bar does not show up automatically.

Thanks.

Whatever version of Win7 you're using, set your desktop theme to classic and
you'll have no more desktop icon when multiple applications opened.
