Use the skype which you got from nokia o v store. I too have faced the same
problem when my c5 was formatted. Last time I had to try for about 2 days to
sign in. But once I signed in there was no problem in using it further. So keep
on trying. I don't know about the technical part of this issue.

Subject: [AI] I am having an issue with skype in e5

Hi members,
As many of you already know that I am using a nokia e5. It's sim card
slot got damaged so I sent it to nokia service center for repairing.
The phone is back and working nice. But I am not able to sign in to
skype using same virsion which I used earlier. When I installed skype
for the first time in my phone I was using firmware virsion 7.3 or
some thing like that I don't remember the exact number. I successfully
updated it's firmware couple of times without any issues. Now when I
got my phone back then it had latest firmware (10.0) installed. skype
is getting installed but as I said earlier talks keeps on saying
signing inches... and nothing happens. I even downloaded skype again
from nokia store but it too had same problem. Tried formatting the
phone using *#7370# but the firmware remained the same. Please provide
me any practical sollution for this problem. I even visited
skype.com/m from my phone and downloaded an updated virsion. It said
that application not compatible with phone install any way?
regards
