Apologies - I missed out to add few more things. It is better to use the go to reference option to move through the spreadsheet while making these complex selections. If you use the arrow keys, you may need to toggle the add selection mode on and off depending on the number of areas selected. Alternatively, if you think you could make it simpler by instructing the computer to select non-adjacent areas using the go to reference dialog box, you can type in your selection separated by a comma. For example, you could press ctrl + g and then type in: A:A,M:M,T:T,AE:AE. This will cause column A, column M, column T and column AE to get selected all at once.
