dear sir,
yes, it is very difficult to install windows and Linux. as a matter of fact, I wanted to try ubuntu a few days ago. I faced several challenges. also, my windows started giving troubles. finally I removed ubuntu out of my system. in the process, once I lost my partitions where there was a huge data. luckily, I got them back through partition recovery softwares.

thank you for a clear explanation of the features. but, pardon me, I could understand the example you have given. can you elaborate a bit?

Hi sir,
it is true that you can also make a dual boot system. But When it
comes to the dual boot of linux and windows, the situation becomes a
byt trublesum. That's why virtual machines are used. Additionally,
today's virtualisation softwares can provide you to make more than one
machines. They also make virtual machine's files in a common format so
it is very much possible to use one virtual machine in other pc in
which a software is install. For example I installed windows7 in my
pc. After installing vm ware player or any virtualisation software, I
installed linux/ ubuntu in the virtual machine. The software will
creat a new file this will be of same hard drive size which was
alotted by me to that virtual machine earlier. And if I want to use my
machine in some other person's pc then I just need to take that file
along with me in any of the removable media and I will just brows the
file which is contained by my media and I can use that virtual machine
in other person's pc as well. They also provide a lot of advantages
related to networking. So dual boot is not the substitute for
virtualisation. Indeed they both are different things.

virtual machines?

Hi uma,
Now a days we use virtualisation softwares. These are primerily used
by software ingeneers for testing varius softwares without impacting
their origenal operating system or pc. After installing this software,
you can start it by clicking on the desktop shortcut. When you will
run it first time, it will ask to alocate some of your existing system
hardware resources like ram, hard disk space, processor etc to make a
new virtual machine. After making a virtual machine or pc, you can
install any operating system like windows xp, 7, 8, linux/ ubuntu in
that new virtual machine which is created recently. Basically it is
used when you want to try out a new operating system without impacting
your origeenal operating system. But practically it needs a decent
amount of hardware configgeration. The softwares are to a large extent
accessible with jaws. VM ware player is a free and famous
virtualisation software.
Hope I have answered allmost all your querries.

Hi folks,
I want to know about Virtual PC.
My cousin told me that we can install two or more OS in a single system.
But, I am not able to get clear picture about virtualization.
So, experts please explain
What is Virtual PC?
What are advantages of it?
Does JAWS support it or not?
My question may be wrong. So, please excuse me if I am wrong in my
question.
