Dear Kiran,
Primarily there are three types of DAISY books.
1. Audio only book: This book contains complete narration of the text of the
book with list of headings and page numbers. Users can listen to the
recording and navigate by headings, pages and phrases. In such books the
person who is recording the book should descry the images in the book.
2. Full text full audio book: It contains all of the above and also the
complete text of the book and images. Users who can see will be able to see
the text and images. Others can listen to their description.
3. Text only book: It contains complete text of the book without any
recording. Users can read it with their screen reader or get it recorded or
converted to Braille at their end.
Note that there are guidelines on describing images for the book readers.
And when images are included in the book alternative text should be provided
the way it is done for the web.
The new tool Tobi goes many steps further by allowing the book producer to
include several types of descriptions for explaining the image to disabled
readers.
For each image in the book a text summary, long description, explanation in
simple language and even alternative images can be included. These
descriptions can help different types of disabilities for example the low
vision reader may use the high contrast alternative image, a dyslexic may
use simple language explanation and a blind reader may like the long
description.

Book players are expected to support all these reading options soon.
