Yes. Somewhat to an extent. You could try changing the Jaws verbosity to
advanced and try accessing again. If there's any improvement at all, you can
then make this change permanent in settings center. But keep in mind that
changing the verbosity to 'advanced' will cause Jaws to shorten it's speech
messages. Some may find it little difficult.

Have you noticed that Excel works slowly, at least responds slowly, when we
are working in Jaws 12 and 13? It is more disturbing when the Excel file has
macros. I thought, it is specific to my pc. Recently, a friend of mine has
reported the same to me. Is there any solution?
