Most of you would have yesterday heard of the IAS officer who was transferred
from his department because he ordered an inquiry against some irregularities
in land in Haryana.

Before the moderator pulls me up for off topic posts let me inform you that Mr.
Ashok Khemka was the Director General of the Social Justice Ministry in
Haryana. This was one of his 40 postings until date.
While in the Social Justice Ministry he was bold enough not to allow exemption
under Section 47(1) of the PWD Act to the Police Department. This was really
path breaking because it is just presumed that the disabled cannot do police
work.

He was brave and bold then and now he has really done something for the country.
I am honoured to have met him at the Ministry's consultation on the India
Country Report on UNCRPD held in January 2012 in Delhi.

May his work and tribe grow.
