Dear Friends,
I am wrriting to you from the Technical Training Institute of the Pune Blind Men's Association, based in Pune. This is to inform all of you that, TTI in partnership with Vodafone had started a Call Centre in June 2012. This call centre had employed 19 visually Challenged persons, which included both totally blind and partially sighted persons. The out put from this centre was very encouraging, and hence in August 2012, TTI had also started a 3 month training programme in Call Centre Operations, which was also partnered by Vodafone. The trainers in this Call centre training programme were all from Vodafone traininng centre. TTI and vodafone intends to employ more than200 visually challenged persons at its campus in Pune. A number of other NGO's across Maharashtra have also shown interest in duplicating this initiative of TTI and we hope to train students from these organizations and send them back to be employed by the organizations and Vodafone jointly. TTI is extremely grateful to Vodafone Maharashtra - Goa for their extremely positive and warm support for employing the visually challenged persons. For any further information regarding this initiative, please feel free to contact us at the numbers given below.
With best regards,

well said sir,
I totally agree with u.
this initiative of vodaphone should not be apreeciated by blind community.

I condemn this initiative of VODAfone as it only talks about and gives
opportunity to partially blind people and excludes full blind.
One would also not accept it as "positive beginning" with the hope
that in future it would further employ full blind people as it
discriminate and tends to prove the viability and superiority of
partial blind over full blind .
And, in other sense it is creating a gulf between two segments as well.

have taken an initiative to employ the partially blind people into their
call centers. this initiative aims at providing employment to several
such
people.

The program of employment includes personal training of receiving enquiry
calls, making phone calls and so on. Main area of employment will be the
post-paid department of the company. the initiative is called "Project
Drishti"

well, the moral is, even thought they do not have vision, they have voice
with which they will now be able to lead independent lives.
Thanks
