Ok, go to the search box on the Start menu and type live. You will find the
Windows message Go online to get Windows Live Essentials. Lie mail is one of
ten components of Live Essentials. You may uncheck all other components to
save time. It is just a standard dialogue box.
i found a link for downloading the whole package of 200 mb. It includes all
the 10 components. I did not note down the link. Perhaps i can find it if
you want. But this is not necesssary. Simply select live mail and download
the required component.

True, you can use mozilla thunderbird or windows live mail instead. The
latter is almost like outlook express.
