Outlook express in no longer available with windows 7. If you have windows
xp, it should be on the start menu, all programmes submenu. Or type msimn
from the run command.

If you use outlook express, you can use its notification feature and
minimise the programme. Go to Options under Tools menu. On the General
tab,
i.e. the first tab, make sure the checkbox "Play sound when new messages
arrive" is checked. Then make sure that the checkbox "Check for new

If you minimise OE and keep working on other applications, OE will

Still you are not getting the notification after installing google
talk, please open google talk, click settings, and then notifications,
and check 'show email notifications' unfortunately, as per my
knowledge, there is no possibility of getting sound alert for emails
while using google talk. If you need that feature, then configure your
email account to out look, perhaps it helps you; I'm not sure though.
