AMBERNATH: A 17-year-old disabled girl from Ambernath was raped
several times last year by her cousin, the teen's family has alleged.
The girl's family lodged a complaint on Sunday night, after the teen
lost the child she was carrying at a hospital. She had been admitted
to hospital after complaining of abdominal pain. The Ambernath police
identified the accused as Sayaji Adav (22), a resident of Kuntavali
village in Bhimashankar.

The Ambernath police said the accused first raped the girl during a
visit to her home.

Later during victim's visit at Bhimashankar based his uncle's house
there too her cousin brother made physical relationship with her.

The victim claimed police that she avoided to complaint about incident
to parents or police fearing social stigma.

Laxman Sareputra, assistant police inspector from Ambernath police
station said, "The girl faces disability in walking properly and needs
help for all activities. She avoids complaining about physical
relation to parent after even she became pregnant".

On Sunday morning victim sudden started pain in abdomen following to
which her parents took her to Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar where
family learned about her pregnancy" Added Tareputa.

Later doctor informed about incident to police who recorded statement
of victim and registered rape case against the accused Adav.

The police sources said that to nab the culprits police had sent their
one team at Bhimashankar based his house but he was not found
there.The accused is said to be school dropouts and works in a hotel
at Bhimshankar.
