Hi
You can also use blue-tooth headphone which you can also use on your mobile for
being away from the desktop. Folks have also been controlling their desktops by
using voice recognition this way. Now JSay is on the path of becoming free to
use.

Distance of course would be about 10 to 20 metres away through blue-tooth.

Subject: [AI] FM Transmitter and wireless keyboard

Hi,

I love playing around with gadgets. Offlate I have this crazy idea of
interacting with my desktop or laptop quite away from it, rather than
sitting there at a table for a long time and getting back aches etc. I've
been thinking of a cost-effective solution that I believe might work and
somewhat reduce the number of hours spent sitting at the computer and still
be able to interact with it at least at home.

The solution that I have in my mind is to get an FM transmitter and plug it
into the 3.5mm audio port of my computer, tune my FM radio to the frequency
of the transmitter, and control my computer using a wireless keyboard.

I have a foldable waterproof wireless keyboard and an FM radio. The maximum
working range of the keyboard is up to 15 meters or 49 feet in radius. But
the thing I'm worried about is how far does a typical FM transmitter work?
Anyone using it?

Do you have any other good alternatives to the above apart from suggesting
me to take breaks frequently?

I think an FM transmitter should not cost me more than INR.800. What do you
think?

Thanks
