Dear all Access Indians and Renuka, A special thanks for highlighting such a deeply deplorable issue on Access India domain so that all of us may visualize the gravity of ground realities down there at Poonamallee Government Higher Secondary School for the Blind in Chennai. It's more unfair on the part of government to initiate scrapping courses that once were of great use for the blind students to seek employment opportunity than expanding more avenues to support blind students gain confidence to be self-reliant in life. It's unpardonable iniquity even to conceptualize about shutting a blind school in the face of Braille system itself under a siege and struggle for survival amidst enhanced accessibility of printed materials in digital format. It's good that blind students themselves frustrated government unilateral move by staging agitation so that the welfare of next generation of blind students may be safeguarded. Many thanks Renuka, for highlighting social issues concerning blind students on Access India domain. Warm regards. David Richards.
