Just open the CD through windows media player.
there is an option, "rip Music from CD".
Activate it. in the status bar, the rip status will display. Say, "one file
ripped" etc.
All the ripped files are copied to "my music" folder which resides in my
documents in the default settings.
in "my music", a new folder would be created titled, "unknown album".
In this folder all the ripped music should be available.

I cannot seem to accomplish it.
It says only shortcuts would be copied, and you have to insert removable
drive to play the files...
