if they are using windows xp and 7 unicode should be opened correctly.
however, you can download compatible ttf hindi fonts via internet.

Which is the common software for typing sanskrit and hindy? presently we
can typ it in Unicode. but it can't be opened in any other software. In
my experience the professional typists demand matter in ether I .S.M.
or pagemaker. This is common in the case of any Indian language. The
journals and other publication demand matter typed other than Unicode.
