Hello listers
I wonder what is really wrong with these websites? They try fixing
things that aren't broken and end up messing it all up. Last month
there was a discussion on AI regarding the lack of accessible sites to
check and book flight tickets in the context of the inaccessibility of
the revamped cleartrip site. Unfortunate to note that nothing has
changed there. In fact, the list of obnoxious sites are only going up.
The latest to join is Yahoo. Yahoo's groups services used to be used
by many screen reader users. But with the recent revamp, it has become
inaccessible in significant ways. It is difficult to move around
easily on the list home page for an ordinary user. If you are a
moderator, then your life is cooked. Can't really do any of the
important tasks with Jaws or NVDA as many of the links just appear as
plain text that is not clickable. Yahoo as always, doesn't really
care. The recent revamp of googlegroups had made life difficult there,
what can we do?
Is there any provision whereby we can take these people to the CCPD or
any such authority? What could be an accessible group alternative for
us?
Just feeling incredibly frustrated.......
