The hostel, commissioned by the Department of Women and Child Development with a capacity for 120 women, also has a crèche facility for 30 children. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Dikshit said women will be provided boarding and lodging facility at very reasonable rates. The Chief Minister also said that there was need to upgrade security in and around the hostel, ensure transport facility from there and disseminate the women-in-distress helpline number 181 in the hostel itself. The government will also provide facilities like air-conditioning.
