1) We'll start out this short but packed issue with a service I've
used to great advantage. Microsoft has a new free program in which
technicians fix computers for people with disabilities. You give
permission for them to remote into your computer and they are able to
make adjustments to settings. Hours of operation are 8:00 AM -
Midnight Eastern time on weekdays and 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM on weekends.
(I'm not sure if the service is intended for worldwide availability.)
The toll-free number to seek assistance is:
(800) 936-5900

2) Hear about the very popular reading app Voice Dream Reader on Tek

3) With the advent of iOS7 for recent iPhones and iPads, there is a
great deal of information about new features, accessibility
enhancements, and possible accessibility bugs. New material is being
added as I write. Much of interest is to be found on the AppleVis
site. Rather than providing a large collection of links which would
probably not be complete by the time you get this, I suggest you look
in the Guides section:
http://www.applevis.com/guides

The podcasts section:

And scroll down to the heading called "The most recent additions and
updates to the AppleVis site:" on the main site:

Meanwhile, the AT blog of the NFB has a great article, "What's new in
iOS 7 accessibility for individuals who are blind, deaf-blind, or who
have low vision.":

A concise blog post covering the scope of accessibility features is at:

If you haven't already upgraded your device before you read this, you
might want to read "Prepare for iOS 7 the Right Way: What To Do Before
Upgrading an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch to iOS 7) from OS X Daily:
