Just an update from my side. I could find a couple of other useful sites during the course of my efforts. Firstly, Amazon's Indian site, amazon.in offers things in an Indian price range and has a very accessible interface. I also came across the site www.homeshop18.com that too has a good collection of books and other stuff. I didn't order anything from this site, but the initial impression is that it too is quite accessible. Best,
