Dear Friends, Yesterday on ‘World White Cane Day’ we have observed many awareness events organized by NGOs and groups. I wish to share one such unique event where I was present.
Yesterday in Mumbai there was a launch function arranged for a forthcoming Marathi Drama. Very very popular celebrity Marathi cinema and drama actor Prashant Damle is producing and acting in this drama which has a story line of two blind characters. One blind by birth and other a late blind at the age of 45. This great actor called two guests of honors who are part of our list – Nupur Joshi and Vikas Dabholkar. Nupur is a brilliant girl studying in her 5th standard. Daughter of our list member Milind Joshi and she is born blind. Mr Dabholkar is a very good computer and JAWS trainer and he is a late blind at the age of 50. Both guests were honored and Nupur did the launching of this Drama. Lot of press and electronic media was present for this event. Drama will come to theater in November. On the occasion Prashant Damle announced his eye donation wish and one major media channel announced their plan to launch major eye donation campaign. Great to see efforts by celebrity people and media on spreading awareness.
