Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) vice-chancellor has informed
education minister P K Shahi that the issue of opening a branch of the
varsity in Bihar has been circulated to different wings of the
university.
PATNA: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) vice-chancellor has informed
education minister P K Shahi that the issue of opening a branch of the
varsity in Bihar has been circulated to different wings of the
university.

Shahi told TOI here on Wednesday he had written a letter to the VC of
JNU, seeking opening of a branch of the university here. The VC has
acknowledged the letter and stated the issue can be discussed further
after getting the opinion of different wings of the university. The VC
has also stated the branch can be opened only after getting approval
of the Union HRD ministry. The minister said he has also written a
letter to the Union HRD ministry for a JNU branch in Bihar. The
proposal is being examined by the Centre, he said.
