Press Statement

It is stated that All India Disability Alliance in a press statement
issued on behalf of its convenor Shri S.K. Rungta demanded from the
Govt, that the proposed Rights of Persons with Disabilities Bill 2014
should not be promulgated through an ordinance unless the suggestions
suggested by the National Federation of the Blind and All India
Disability Alliance be accepted and incorporated in the Bill. The
alliance also demanded that an inquiry should be ordered against the
Lathi charge on the disabled during demonstration yesterday and if the
Govt. Does not do so the Alliance shall move to the Delhi High court
for judicial inquiry. The alliance further stated that NFB is getting
the injured blind treated on its own expenses. The alliance also
demanded that the Govt. Should send the suggestions submitted by the
Alliance to the Standing committee for consideration and incorporation
in the proposed Bill. The Alliance also expressed thanks to the Media
for its support to the Alliance during its agitation.
