Visually challenged students of Special Teachers' Training Centre
staged a protest, seeking transfer of deputy director (DD) of the
centre or cancellation of their admission, here on Monday.

The protesters alleged that the DD has been using abusive words. They
alleged that the teachers at the Centre are not well qualified to
teach them. "They do not have technical skills to train us. They have
not announced the results even one year after holding the exams," they
alleged.

Further, they said that the Centre has not been providing them Braille
devises to write. "Computer training has also stopped," they claimed.

Demanding hostel facilities, the students said that their counterparts
in other states have been provided good hostel facilities. The
agitators also urged the department to transfer the DD.
