The diversity in the cultural background can influence the preferences which would eventually affect the results of this current study. My attitude towards marriage was completely different when I was in Nagpur some years back. Our socialization majorly influence our thinking. People living in Delhi or Chennai may have a complete different idea about their life partner as compared to those of living in any other metropolitan city or rural area for that matter. As a researcher it becomes my responsibility to control the various interfering variables so that the collected information can be narrowed down to conclusions. As far as generalization of the results is concerned, this study will be restricted to the population of Mumbai. Being a Post-Graduate level study using a large sample was not a feasible considering the limited time duration though there is severe necessity for a large scale research. 2) Regarding the query of "English Speaking Individuals", I appreciate your concern and also the fact that preferences of those who can't speak English are also of great importance. The tool being used as a questionnaire is a pre-coded set. Translating it to Hindi or Marathi and writing down the responses in the same language and again re-translating it to English would have been a demanding task and it would have influenced the originality of the questionnaire too. As some of my colleagues are doing it but their sample size is much smaller. Also I am willing to include people who can't speak English but only if they meet me personally so that I can narrate and translate the questions. As far as online data collection is concerned this criteria had to be included as I cannot create a similar form in Hindi. Their is no bias on the basis of Class so to say.
