A 25-year-old disabled man was found dead with his throat slit at his
sister's residence in east Delhi's
New Ashok Nagar.
Vicky was living with his mother at Sector-5 of Noida, but had
temporarily shifted to his sister's rented accommodation recently as
his mother had left for their native village for a few days.
He was found dead inside a room at the A-Block of Hanuman Mandir Road
in New Ashok Nagar.
The body was discovered by his sister Meena who works for a private
company in Noida. Meena was first informed by her landowner that the
door of her house was open and no one was inside.
"Meena rushed home at about 7.30 pm and found Vicky lying dead on a
bed in one of the rooms. His throat was slit and there was blood all
over," said the police.
She cried out for help after which some neighbours rushed the victim
to hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Vicky was disabled in one leg and was unemployed. According to the
sister, he was alone in the house when she left home.
Investigators revealed that he was attacked with a kitchen knife.
"There appeared to be no resistance offered by Vicky during the
attack," the official said, adding that robbery has been ruled out as
a possible reason.
"Someone known to the victim has committed the crime. We have
identified them, but they have fled. We will nab them soon," said the
official without giving details of the suspects.
Sources in the police said Meena suspected some people with whom they
had a dispute over family property. Police are currently questioning
Meena and a few neighbours.
A case of murder has been registered at New Ashok Nagar police station
and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
