*3 week Short Term Training on Accessibility Testing from 16th June to 4th
July 2014*
This is an initiative from Mitra Jyothi and S A P Labs team towards giving
quality training on Accessibility Testing for visually impaired people.
Accessibility Testing is the latest upcoming career choice with a growing
demand for trained Accessibility Testers in the IT Industry. The course has
been designed by industry experts – S A P Labs, with more focus on
practicals and SAP trainers themselves will conduct this training. This
will increase the employment opportunities, and betterment of existing job.
*Course Content*
1) What is software testing in general?
2) Accessibility
a) What is Accessibility?
b) Why is Accessibility test important?
-Legal importance
-Section 508 and WCAG2.0
-Ageing population
3) What are assistive Technologies?
4) What are the different existing Accessibility guidelines
- WCAG guidelines/ Section508 guidelines
5) How is accessibility testing done?
6) Practical orientation through exercise: Accessibility Testing of
Different websites and software applications
7) Test for final assessment.

a. Windows 7 operating system and
b. Office 2007,
c. Jaws / NVDA
*Course Details:-*
Duration : 3 Weeks
Timings : 9:30 AM-6:00 PM, Monday-Saturday
Dates : Monday, 16th June 2014 – Friday, 4th July 2014.
Seats : 12 to 15
Premise : Mitra Jyothi
*Who are eligible?*
Any person with visual impairment, whose educational qualification is
minimum Graduate, and having good communication in English.
*Joining Procedure:*
Candidates have to attend the evaluation test before the training starts,
Candidates will be considered as eligible only if they pass the evaluation
tests.
Evaluation can also be done online or over the phone for out station
candidates.

Once they pass the evaluation test:
1. Candidates have to register in Mitra Jyothi for the course; along
photograph with relevant documents
2. Refundable deposit, Rs. 500.
3. Dormitory accommodation with food is available for outstation
candidates: Rs. 1500.
4. Fees for local candidates: Rs. 750.

*About Mitra Jyothi*
Mitra Jyothi is a registered Charitable Trust formed in 1990. This trust is
working for visually impaired and other disabled people in their Education,
Training and Employment. At present our activities are as follows:
1. Digital Talking Book Library to provide educational and general books on
audio cassettes and CD to the students with visual impairment
2. Basic and Advanced Computer training to the students with visual
impairment.
3. Braille transcription centre to provide Braille books and Braille tools
to the needy students with visual impairment
4. Independent living skill training to the rural women with visual
impairment.
5. Job placement service to persons with disabilities.
