Hi, I have no idea regarding the conversion of the files having MOBI extension, but you can conveniently read the epub files with any version of Kurzweil 1000. Just press Control + O, the open dialog box appears. Locate your desired directory containing the epub file, and press enter on it. Kurzweil 1000 will start reading it as if it's reading a standard Kurzweil 1000 file format which is usually of KES extension. You can then simply convert it into any format you prefer. Just press Alt to access the menu bar, press the down arrow until you reach "save as" option. Pressing enter there will let you choose a list of available file formats. select any of them and press enter. that's it.
