I saw this piece on television a while ago. Appalling, to say the least. I have a few questions abouthow the footage was taken at the opportune time? Perhaps this has happened in the past as well so somebody decided to record it this time around and take it to it's required conclusion- justice . To think of a blind teacher mete out such punishment really adds to the whole crazy situation. I think recently there was a mention about corporal punishment in the education system. This needs to go where justice is served.

A teacher of a residential school for visually impaired children in the city was caught on camera brutally canning young children. The teacher is also blind. The video shows the teacher beating up three visually challenged students even as they cry in agony and seek mercy. But the teacher continued to deliver blow after blow till the children - all younger than 10 - collapsed on the floor in tears. The video, which appears to have been captured using a cellphone, has also caught the teacher banging a child's head against the floor. The teacher and the principal of the school are now under police custody; the state Child Rights Commission has also started a probe. As per reports there are over 60 students enrolled at the residential school, which is said to be a charitable institution. Importantly, the children are not orphans. Their parents had enrolled them there so as to ensure that they get specialised care. All of them are now numb with disbelief and pained to realise what their children have had to go trough.
